In this test match series, Australia win the series by 2-0.

India and Australia have played 10 matches since the 2016 Azlan Shah Cup final. India have won 1, drawn 3 (although they went on to lose two in shootouts) and lost six of them. However, most of the defeats have been very close, barely a one-goal margin.

One can hardly point fingers at new coach Graham Reid for India’s performances in the two matches since he barely got a week with the players before they jet-setted to Perth. But he has got something to work with now. They lost the ball cheaply in the midfield, defended like amateurs and when they raided Australia’s ‘D’, the strikers lacked control and composure – basically, the same mistakes that have claimed the jobs of the last two coaches

Hardik Pandya tells about his innovative ‘Helicopter Shot’ which will help him in World Cup 2019

Indian All-rounder Hardik Pandya told that he has acheived this shot by watching MS Dhoni in the nets session.

The open stance of Hardik Pandya allows to bring the bat between the foots with insane bat speed by dragging the bat at awkard angles.

Hardik Pandya’s back foot is outside off-stump and the front foot is in the line with it.He bends his upper body forward and back ,the knees are bent, the bat is in air , the wrists are raised. In this position he awaits the yorker length ball . Normally when batsmen do such movements on the pitch they playing shots like scoop or lap shot but Pandya does not play such shots , he play a awkard shot which comes as a ‘helicopter shot’.

This open stance help him to bring down the bat with power without worrying about body and foot ,then come his cocked wrist and drag the bat at awkard angles to connect the ball and send it up over the midwicket region.

That comes from the fact that he stays down, almost crouches a bit, which does affect the way he plays the bouncers, but the bowlers haven’t quite had the firepower to trouble him enough for him to lose sleep over it.
